Why this? Why Now?
I’ve known for a long time that I was walking toward this moment. It took countless thoughts—written, erased, reconsidered, released —before one finally refused to be dismissed. Clarity comes differently for everyone: sometimes a whisper, sometimes a scream. When mine arrived, I knew it was time to fully build my dream: Bear Witness Coaching.
I first glimpsed BWC in 2017. I researched programs, invested in training, recruited clients, and earned certifications. But the deeper work was internal—redefining myself from who I had been to who I was becoming. Saying “I’m a Life Coach” felt simple in words but enormous in identity. In a city where “What do you do?” comes before your name, I had to unlearn my old answers and speak a truth that hadn’t yet rooted in my spirit.
Then came 2025—a year that shook so many of us. Friends lost jobs and healthcare at the exact moment they needed both. Others made painful pivots to keep their homes or support their families. Young adults watched the first rung of their careers crumble. Mid‑career professionals felt too young to retire and too old to start over. And all of us were carrying the weight of national and global events that stretched our emotional capacity.
For me, it became a year of deep reflection. Losing a well‑paying job forced me to rethink what “quality of life” really means. I learned that peace of mind is its own form of wealth. Having $10 when you need $4 feels comfortable, but having $6 when you need $4 can be enough when paired with a quiet spirit. Abundance isn’t just financial—it’s psychological spaciousness, the luxury of thinking a thought to completion, the ability to breathe slowly and deliberately.
I learned that cooking at home can be as satisfying as eating out, and that “enough for now” can be a blessing. Most of all, I learned that nothing beats having the time and space to reclaim your peace—emotionally, physically, spiritually, and psychologically.
Eight years after that first glimpse of BWC, the stumbling words and shaky confidence have fallen away. What remains is certainty. Being an emotional transformative Life Coach is my calling. Bear Witness Coaching has become a sanctuary—a place where individuals, couples, and organizations explore where they’ve gone off track and how to come home to themselves. Together, we move through the discomfort, the questions, the silences, and the breakthroughs. It’s a space for remembering, reclaiming, and returning to your path with renewed purpose and the courage to reshape your future.
What is your “Why this? Why now?” moment.
